our 4th

this 4th we stayed local and had a nice time. koda, like last year, freaked out from the fireworks. but this year he decided to bust through the fence. he's a psycho. seriously have you ever heard of a dog going kamikaze on a fence? so i guess it's a good thing we stayed local. audrey wasn't sure what to make of all the noise and commotion, but she didn't get scared so that's good. the park here in town always has a big show so we drove across the street and watched the fireworks. audrey slept through the show. this 4th made me do some serious reflecting on our country and the way it is heading...i'll just leave it at that. anyway here are a few pictures from our evening.

i just wanted to wish my da-da a happy father's day and my grandpa e and w too! i'm so blessed to have these wonderful men in my life and be such good examples to me and love me so much.

pilot creek falls

yesterday neil and i took audrey on a hike guided by cousin johnny to pilot creek falls. destination: natural water slides. the hike was 5.6 miles round trip, nothing too long, but it got pretty steep at parts...johnny and neil were anti-rest so i had to keep hustling along. good thing i've been working out lately, i think it helped a bit. here are some pictures of our adventure...

june means i'm eight months old!

i can't believe i'll be eight months old on sunday! happy eight months to me :) i'm getting to be such a big girl (well not literally, i'm still really small). but here are some things i've been doing lately:

i drink from a sippy cup
i'm scooting along (not crawling yet!)
i can sit up and not fall over
i love to play with my dolls and toys on the floor
when i wake up from my naps i like to play in my crib (sometimes mommy doesn't even know i've woken up!)
i eat three meals a day. i especially love applesauce and mangos.
i love to squeal at the top of my lungs all through out church...mommy doesn't know if she should take me out in the hall half the time. she usually does because i'm so distracting. but i just like to talk to all my friends :)

heat of the day, cool of the pool

we were fortune enough to "inherit" a nice big pool from family (thank you amy and chris) and decided today was as good a day as it's going to get to fill it up since it's breaking 100 degrees. i thought it was going to be cold, but was pleasantly surprised at how great it felt. this was audrey's first time in a "big" pool. she cried at first, but after a few minutes she got use to it. eventually she was having the time of her life in the little baby floaty i bought her. we had a great time cooling off. the only bummer is we have to lock koda up on the side of the house while it's up so he doesn't pop it, because believe me he would!
